Eli Lilly Searches For New GC As Top Atty Plans To Retire

Law360 (July 11, 2019, 5:41 PM EDT) -- Eli Lilly and Co. on Thursday announced that its senior vice president and general counsel plans to retire at the end of 2019 after 28 years with the pharmaceutical company, and a search has begun for his successor.

Mike Harrington, who for seven years has served on Eli Lilly's executive team, was credited in the announcement with helping the company hold onto patent exclusivity for medicines, including one of its best-selling cancer treatments: Alimta.

Chairman and CEO David Ricks also applauded Harrington for his assistance in finalizing the Elanco divestiture, and for acquisitions such as of Loxo Oncology Inc.
