New ABA Prez Says Advocacy Stretches Beyond Lawyers

Posed with this question, the newly minted president of the organization, Judy Perry Martinez, said the ABA advocates for the legal profession, but that such efforts ripple far beyond lawyers to benefit “the public” as well.
Martinez detailed her goals for her yearlong stint as ABA president in a phone conversation with Law360 this week. Those goals include increasing access to justice, improving diversity and inclusion in the legal profession, supporting the rule of law, and educating the general public on civics.
