NJ Supreme Court Axes 'Super Lawyer' Ad Ban

Law360 (December 18, 2008, 12:00 AM EST) -- "Super Lawyers" in New Jersey can sing their own praises, as the state's high court has vacated a ban on attorneys advertising their place in peer-reviewed rankings that use comparative words such as “super” and “best.”

On Wednesday, the New Jersey Supreme Court vacated its Committee on Attorney Advertising's Opinion 39, which found that advertising inclusion in lists of the state's “super” or “best” lawyers misleads consumers.
