Plaintiffs Firm Hits Ex-Associate With Trade Secrets Suit

Law360, Chicago (June 16, 2017, 2:24 PM EDT) -- Chicago-area plaintiffs firm Anderson + Wanca sued one of its former associates in Illinois court Thursday, claiming the attorney took confidential client and firm documents with him when he left last year.

Anderson + Wanca and firm principal Brian Wanca say former associate David M. Oppenheim impermissibly took the material from the firm or the clients when he quit in April 2016. The suit alleges Oppenheim breached his fiduciary duty to the firm and violated the Illinois Trade Secrets Act.
