FDA's Youth E-Cig Blitz Could Go Much Further

By Azim Chowdhury and Benjamin Wolf (May 30, 2018, 2:54 PM EDT) -- Following on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's comprehensive plan for nicotine and tobacco regulation, announced on July 28, 2017, the FDA recently launched its Youth Tobacco Prevention Plan, intended to reduce the use of vapor products, also known as electronic nicotine delivery systems, or ENDS, by young people. The plan so far has included actions to curb youth use of the JUUL e-cigarette, manufactured by JUUL Labs Inc., two salvos of warning letters issued to companies purported to be marketing e-liquids to youth and a request for information from JUUL Labs and other ENDS manufacturers....
