Last week, the U.S. Department of Agriculture hosted a joint two-day meeting[1] with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on the use of animal cell culture technology to develop products derived from livestock and poultry. This meeting served to build on the regulatory conversation that the FDA jump-started on July 12, 2018, when that agency hosted a meeting[2] on foods produced using animal cell culture technology.
