FDA Warning Wire: Pistachios Linked To Salmonella Outbreak

Law360, New York (October 11, 2016, 8:15 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Food and Drug Administration tore into The Wonderful Co., the company behind Pom Wonderful pomegranate juice and Fiji bottled water, for pistachio nuts linked to a outbreak of salmonella, while the agency continued its crackdown on e-cigarette retailers selling to minors.

The FDA also scolded a Chinese pharmaceutical maker for its poor quality-control measures and for adding the wrong active ingredient to one of its products, and chided a Swiss company for similar violations, including the appearance of a rusty discoloration on its product.
