Deals Rumor Mill: Shell, Eddie Bauer, Walmart

By Benjamin Horney (June 23, 2017, 4:32 PM EDT) -- OMV AG and Vermilion Energy Inc. are among those vying to buy the remaining New Zealand energy assets being sold by Royal Dutch Shell PLC, according to a Friday report from Bloomberg. According to the report, Vermillion is in talks with potential partners to put together an offer for Shell's stakes in two gas fields in New Zealand. Meanwhile, smaller local energy firms, including Greymouth Petroleum Ltd., are looking into teaming up with other investors to make bids for the Shell assets. All in all, the assets up for grabs could be worth up to $1 billion, the report noted. Shell is being advised by JPMorgan Chase & Co., the report said, and a winning bidder should be chosen before the calendar turns to 2018....
