NY Bar To Probe Impact Of Shift To Uniform Atty Exam

Law360 (April 1, 2019, 6:14 PM EDT) -- The New York State bar said Monday it will examine how the state's move to a uniform bar exam has affected the quality and diversity of lawyers, again suggesting the exam was adopted without adequate information on its possible consequences.

The New York State Bar Association, which took a stand against the change before it took effect in 2016, will craft a task force that will take a closer look at the impact the exam has had on applicants and their employers, as well as on diversity among the ranks of new attorneys, according to its announcement.
