Law360, Philadelphia (February 1, 2018, 8:24 PM EST) -- A lawyer for the city of Philadelphia on Thursday pushed a Pennsylvania federal judge for a hearing and discovery to fight off the Chamber of Commerce for Greater Philadelphia's bid to halt an ordinance that would bar employers from asking applicants about their pay history.
Marcel Pratt, who chairs the Litigation Department at the City Solicitor's Office, told U.S. District Judge Mitchell Goldberg that testimony from a labor market expert and the executive director of the Philadelphia Commission on Human Relations would help prove the measure constitutional. The chamber has filed for a preliminary injunction to prevent the law from going into effect....
