Deals Rumor Mill: Asahi Group, VAT, Apollo Global

By Benjamin Horney (January 12, 2016, 5:03 PM EST) -- Japanese beverage giant Asahi Group Holdings Ltd. may help get Anheuser-Busch InBev's planned $100 billion tie-up with SABMiller over the finish line by buying Grolsch and Peroni, two European brands owned by SABMiller, according to a report from Reuters on Tuesday. According to the report, Asahi Group is expected to make official bids for the two brands as soon as later this week, and together Grolsch and Peroni could be worth as much as 400 billion yen ($3.41 billion). AB InBev and SABMiller reportedly began contacting potential suitors for the brands late last month....
