Jury Sides With Pfizer Unit In Prempro Breast Cancer Case

Law360, New York (March 1, 2012, 8:07 PM EST) -- A Nebraska federal jury cleared Pfizer Inc. subsidiary Wyeth Pharmaceuticals Inc. of wrongdoing Thursday in a patient's case alleging the company's hormone treatment Prempro gave her breast cancer, making it the seventh jury to side with Wyeth out of the last eight, Pfizer said.

The jury found that plaintiff Sally Kammerer had not proven Wyeth had failed to warn her about known risks associated with Prempro, which is approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration to treat osteoporosis and symptoms of menopause.
