Novo Nordisk Recalls Insulin Pens All Over Europe

By Juan Carlos Rodriguez (October 25, 2013, 3:26 PM EDT) -- Novo Nordisk A/S said Friday it's recalling certain batches of NovoMix 30 FlexPen, a prefilled insulin product, in Europe because they don't meet the specifications for insulin strength, which could lead to the patient's blood sugar level becoming higher or lower than expected.

The company is recalling some NovoMix 30 FlexPens in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Iceland, Luxemburg, the Netherlands, Norway and Slovakia. In Ireland and the U.K., three batches of NovoMix 30 Penfill are being recalled.
