FDA Warns Abilify Tied To 'Uncontrollable Urges' For Sex, Food

Law360, Boston (May 3, 2016, 5:33 PM EDT) -- Already the subject of several personal injury lawsuits, the antipsychotic drug Abilify will now come with a new warning from the Food and Drug Administration: It might cause compulsive gambling, eating, shopping and sex.

The FDA moved Tuesday to add the warnings about "uncontrollable urges" to the drug label and medication guides for aripiprazole, which is used to treat schizophrenia and bipolar disorder and can be used in combination with other medications to treat depression.
