UK's Petrofac Wins Third Major Iraq Oil Project

Law360, New York (February 24, 2012, 2:03 PM EST) -- U.K. oil services company Petrofac Ltd. has been awarded a $330 million engineering, procurement and construction contract for the first phase of an Iraqi oil field project under development by a consortium of Russian, Korean, Malaysian and Turkish energy companies, Petrofac said Friday.

Petrofac, which is already working in Iraq for subsidiaries of BP PLC and Royal Dutch Shell PLC, won a competitive bid process to build three crude processing facilities at the Badra oil field, each taking about 18 months. The first is expected to...
