SEC’s $54M Whistleblower Awards Bring Total Above $320M

Law360 (September 6, 2018, 7:26 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission said Thursday it will pay two unidentified whistleblowers a combined $54 million for their roles in enforcement actions, bringing the agency’s total payout for the program to more than $320 million.

The awards of $39 million and $15 million are the second- and eighth-largest the agency has distributed since launching the program in 2011, the SEC said. The largest to be awarded was $50 million split between two whistleblowers in March.
