Goldman Sachs' Hiring Practices Probed For FCPA Violations

Law360, New York (May 9, 2014, 2:33 PM EDT) -- Goldman Sachs Group Inc. admitted in a securities filing on Friday that regulators are investigating whether its hiring practices violate the U.S. Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, and said the bank is also fighting accusations of market manipulation over its high-frequency trading methods.

In a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Goldman said that regulators are investigating whether the bank’s hiring methods comply with the FCPA, and disclosed that its high-frequency trading practices are also being scrutinized.
