Goldman To Outsource Dark Pool Operations To Nasdaq

By Rick Archer (November 1, 2016, 9:28 PM EDT) -- Goldman Sachs Group Inc. will hand off the technical management of its Sigma X dark pool to a Nasdaq Inc. division, the firm said Tuesday.

Under the deal, Nasdaq's new dark pool hosting business, Ocean, will provide the hardware and software to host and operate the pool as the Securities and Exchange Commission tightens its rules on the technology infrastructure of securities markets.

"This partnership allows GS to capitalize on the expertise and experience of a scale provider of exchange technology used in 33 Nasdaq and many other marketplaces worldwide," Goldman Sachs spokeswoman Tiffany Galvin said in a statement Tuesday....
