Can You Tweet That? NY Bar Updates Social Media Guidance

Law360, New York (May 12, 2017, 7:37 PM EDT) -- The New York State Bar Association updated its guidelines for what you should and shouldn’t do on social media on Thursday, touching on an array of common concerns such as attorney-client confidentiality, discovery and advertising, warning against the kind of online antics that can cause legal headaches.

This is the third edition of the organization's Social Media Ethics Guidelines, which was first published in 2014 and updated in 2015, and it includes commentary incorporating new case law and recent ethics opinions from around the country....
