SEC OKs New Continuing Ed. Rules For Muni Advisers

Law360, New York (May 18, 2017, 5:11 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission has signed off on rules changes that will establish continuing education requirements for municipal advisers starting next year, the Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board said on Wednesday.

According to the MSRB, the changes require municipal advisers to draw up and administer a continuing education program for their representatives and principal employees, as well as keep records documenting their program’s formulation, content and completion.
