UK Tax Head Blasted For 'Hounding' Goldman Whistleblower

Law360, New York (March 26, 2014, 7:15 PM EDT) -- U.K. Parliament members on Monday berated the head of the nation's tax agency for allowing it to use a terrorism-related law to track a whistleblower who revealed an agency member allowed Goldman Sachs Group Inc. to evade at least £10 million ($16.58 million) in tax interest. 

After whistleblower Osita Mba alerted parliament and the National Audit Office about the tax dodge, his employer — U.K. tax agency Her Majesty Revenue & Customs — used the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act to look through his phone records....
