Sen. Finance Committee Dems' Top Tax Aide To Leave

Law360, New York (July 17, 2017, 7:24 PM EDT) -- Victor Fleischer, the renowned tax law professor who sparked a debate over the tax benefits for private equity and hedge fund managers, is stepping down from his role as the co-chief tax counsel for Senate Finance Committee Democrats, according to a statement Monday.

A spokesperson for committee ranking member Senator Ron Wyden, D-Ore., confirmed that Fleischer is resigning at the end of this month, but declined to explain why.
