Baker Botts, Bryan Cave Guide $128M VPN Co. Deal

Law360 (November 19, 2019, 5:10 PM EST) -- Security software company Kape Technologies, led by Bryan Cave, said Tuesday it has acquired digital privacy company and virtual private network operator Private Internet Access, which was led by Baker Botts, in a cash-and-stock deal worth $127.6 million.

Kape said the deal would involve $52.9 million in cash and $42.7 million in new Kape shares. The company would also pay off $32.1 million of PIA's existing debt as part of the deal.
