450K Yahoo Usernames, Passwords Stolen In Data Breach

Law360, New York (July 12, 2012, 6:27 PM EDT) -- Hackers have stolen 450,000 usernames and passwords used to access Yahoo Inc.'s services, as well as those of some other sites, the company announced Thursday.

The revelation put the spotlight on Yahoo as the latest comany to suffer a major privacy breach, following social networking site Formspring’s Tuesday announcement that it had disabled passwords for 28 million of its registered users after it discovered 420,000 user passwords had been posted on an unnamed security forum.
