Deals Rumor Mill: DuPont, Sharp Corp., Americana Group

By Benjamin Horney (March 7, 2016, 4:47 PM EST) -- German chemicals company BASF SE is considering a counterbid for DuPont Co., Bloomberg reported on Sunday, as DuPont's previous merger agreement with Dow Chemical, inked in December, is in the process of being investigated by regulatory authorities. According to the report, BASF has begun working with advisers and financing banks to determine whether a counterproposal would be the right move, and no formal approach has yet been made. The deal between DuPont and Dow stands to create a $130 billion chemicals behemoth....
