Deals Rumor Mill: Royal Philips, Bai Brands, Concordia

By Benjamin Horney (October 3, 2016, 8:54 PM EDT) -- Royal Philips NV could sell its lumileds lighting components division to Apollo Global Management LLC, according to a report from Bloomberg on Monday. According to the report, Royal Philips and Apollo are currently in discussions; other private equity firms had been in talks to buy the unit but have since taken their hats out of the ring. Last year, Royal Philips struck an agreement to sell the lumileds lighting components business, known as Philips Lighting, for $2.8 billion, but the company scrapped the deal because of regulatory concerns. A deal could be reached as soon as this month, the report added....
