Nat'l Space Council Could Launch New Era Of Patent Policy

By Larry Williams Jr. and William Allen (May 15, 2018, 1:06 PM EDT) -- Executive Order 13803 recently re-established the National Space Council, which began operating during the Kennedy administration and was disbanded during the Clinton administration. The council's purpose is to "advise and assist the President regarding national space policy and strategy." In particular, it is mandated to, among other things, "develop recommendations for the President on space policy and space-related issues" and "foster close coordination, cooperation, and technology and information exchange among the civil, national security, and commercial space sectors." Additionally, the council should "advise on participation in international space activities conducted by the United States Government" and "facilitate the resolution of differences concerning major space and space-related policy matters."...
