Law360, Washington (November 15, 2017, 6:48 PM EST) -- Third time’s the charm: the U.S. Senate confirmed President Donald Trump’s third pick to be secretary of the Army on Wednesday, sending Raytheon executive Mark T. Esper to the Pentagon.

The 89-6 vote gives the Army new leadership following 10 months with an acting secretary. Esper, a former Army lieutenant colonel and Gulf War veteran who served 21 years in the military, has served as Raytheon’s vice president for government relations since 2010, and his nomination has enjoyed bipartisan support.
