   On April 2, 2026, the court dismissed without prejudice for lack of jurisdiction the civil action filed by plaintiff Jesse Schwork. (Dkt. ## 6 - 7 .) Plaintiff, who filed a notice of appeal on May 4, 2026, now seeks leave to proceed on appeal without prepaying the appellate filing fee. (Dkt. # 9 .) To allow such leave, the court must certify that he has appealed in good faith. See Fed. R. App. P. 24(a)(3); Walker v. O'Brien, 216 F.3d 626, 631 (7th Cir. 2000). An appeal is in good faith if "a reasonable person could suppose that the appeal has some merit." Walker, 216 F.3d at 632. Plaintiff hasn't identified any issue that he intends to appeal. (Dkt. # 8 .) In any event, the court has reviewed the record and sees no non-frivolous ground for appeal since review of plaintiff's claims is barred for several reasons. (Dkt. # 6 .) So, plaintiff's motion is DENIED. This means that plaintiff cannot proceed with his appeal without prepaying the $605 appellate filing fee unless the court of appeals allows him to do so. Plaintiff has 30 days from the date of this order to ask the court of appeals to review it. See Fed. R. App. P. 24(a)(5).
