NJ, Synthes Settle Over Financial Disclosures

Law360, New York (May 5, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The state of New Jersey has reached a settlement with Synthes Inc. over allegations that the medical device maker failed to disclose financial conflicts of interest among doctors who conducted clinical testing on its products.

New Jersey Attorney General Anne Milgram announced the settlement Tuesday.

Under the agreement, which Milgram said should serve as a template for the entire industry, the West Chester, Pa.-based Synthes will disclose on its Web site any future payments made by the company to physicians conducting clinical trials on its devices,...
