Judge Tacks $20M More Onto Award To TruePosition

Law360 (May 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge has awarded Liberty Media Corp. unit TruePosition Inc. $20 million in additional damages, finding that in the wake of a $23.3 million jury verdict against Andrew Corp., the company continued to ship products that infringe a TruePosition patent for technology that can help determine the position of a cell phone.

Judge Sue L. Robinson of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware ruled April 30 that Andrew's decision to keep shipping the products entitles TruePosition to $10.1 million in compensatory damages,...
