E.U. Shows Hand In Gambling Competition Probe

Law360, New York (September 12, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- At least eight more European Union countries may be brought up on charges for unfair competition practices related to sports gambling, the European Commission said Tuesday.

The statement came only a few months after the E.C. sent letters to seven other countries, asking them to respond to complaints from bookmakers that they were not opening up their betting markets.
