Builder-Insurer Settlement Dispute Remanded

Law360, New York (May 7, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A settlement agreement between an insurer and Connecticut homebuilder P.M. Pearson Inc. did not constitute a “meeting of the minds,” a state appeals court has ruled in remanding the disputed deal to a trial court.

The 3-0 ruling in the Appellate Court of Connecticut in favor of plaintiff Amica Mutual, set for official publication May 12, remands the case to Superior Court in Hartford, Conn., for further proceedings.
