Class Member Can't See Case Files: NY High Court

Law360, New York (May 7, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- New York state's highest court has ruled that a class member in a settled securities suit against Computer Associates International Inc. is not entitled to access the class counsel's case files, upholding a decision by a lower appellate court.

In an opinion handed down Thursday, Judge Susan P. Read, of the New York Court of Appeals, said class member Sam Wyly did not enjoy the rights of a named plaintiff and couldn't compel Milberg LLP, Stull Stull & Brody LLP and Schiffrin Barroway Topaz & Kessler...
