JPMorgan Faces Suit Over Law Firm's 401(k) Plan

Law360, New York (May 7, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal court has refused to toss a suit against JPMorgan Chase & Co. brought by a San Francisco law firm alleging the investment bank is liable for miscalculations of the firm’s 401(k) plan that could cause the plan to lose its tax-favored exempt status.

In an order signed Wednesday in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, Judge Samuel Conti denied JPMorgan’s motion for summary judgment, ruling that Shartsis Friese LLP’s suit can proceed.
