FedEx Damages Cut In Discrimination Suit

Law360, New York (September 14, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a stinging setback for two Lebanese-American discrimination plaintiffs, a California county court has slashed a $61 million jury award against package-delivery giant FedEx Corp.

The figure was reduced to $12.4 million by Alameda County Superior Court Judge Stephen Dombrink, who called the sum “excessive” and unjustified by harassment that “was mostly just offensive name-calling.”
