Ex-Monster Exec Convicted In Backdating Case

Law360, New York (May 12, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The former president and chief operating officer of job recruiter Monster Worldwide Inc. has reportedly been convicted of securities fraud and conspiracy in a stock options backdating scheme.

Reuters reported that a jury in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York convicted James J. Treacy on two counts Tuesday after less than a day of deliberations. He now faces up to 25 years in prison and hundreds of thousands of dollars in fines.
