Stanford Exec Pleads Not Guilty To Obstruction

Law360 (May 14, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Stanford Financial Group Chief Investment Officer Laura Pendergest-Holt pled not guilty in a federal court on Thursday to obstructing the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission’s investigation into an alleged $8 billion Ponzi scheme.

Pendergest-Holt pled not guilty to one count of conspiracy to obstruct an SEC investigation and one count of obstruction of an SEC investigation, said Chris Flood, an attorney representing Pendergest-Holt, on Thursday evening. Pendergest-Holt, who was arrested in February, remains free on a $300,000 bond.
