Kirkland Swipes ‘Rising Star’

Law360 (September 14, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Kirkland & Ellis LLP has poached a top young bankruptcy lawyer from one of its main rivals, Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP.

Paul Basta, a 40-year-old attorney who served as lead counsel in the Global Crossing, Rhythms NetConnections, Acterna Corp. and Footstar restructurings, started his new job in Kirkland’s New York office on Wednesday. He joins about 100 other lawyers in the restructuring practice group.
