Hartford Fire Must Defend Injury Suit: Court

Law360 (May 15, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A New York appeals court has upheld a ruling that found Hartford Fire Insurance Co. was under an obligation to defend and indemnify construction management firm JT Magen & Co. Inc. and other parties targeted in an underlying personal injury suit.

The New York Supreme Court’s appellate division on Thursday affirmed a trial court’s judgment denying Hartford’s bid for summary judgment and finding Hartford’s policy was primary to any other policy covering JT.
