Pfizer Sues Dr. Reddy's Over ANDA For Norvasc Generic

Law360, New York (February 24, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Pfizer has filed a patent infringement lawsuit in the U.S. Court for the District of New York against Dr. Reddy’s after the Indian generic maker filed an abbreviated new drug application with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for a copycat version of the hypertension drug Norvasc.

Dr. Reddy's Laboratories filed its ANDA for Amlodipine Besylate tablets 2.5, 5 and 10 mg, with a Paragraph IV certification on the two Orange Book patents listed for the drug.
