Versata Challenges Ford's Bid For Judgment In IP Suit

By Dean Seal (March 9, 2018, 7:38 PM EST) -- Versata Software Inc. fired back Friday at Ford's attempt to get a win in its suit in Michigan federal court seeking a declaration that the automotive giant did not infringe on Versata's patents for automobile configuration software, saying that Ford's arguments contradict evidence on the record and even its own experts.

Versata asked the court to deny Ford summary judgment on trade secret, copyright, breach of contract and patent claims Versata brought against Ford as counterclaims to the automaker's 2015 complaint, reasserting Friday that Ford misappropriated Versata's technology to create a "like-for-like" replacement of Versata's software.
