Abbott Loses Bid For Judgment In $200M Stent Case

Law360, New York (May 18, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A judge has shot down Abbott Laboratories' bid for summary judgment on Medtronic Inc.'s claims for lost profits, in a suit alleging infringement of stent patents and seeking more than $200 million in lost profits, damages and interest.

On Friday, Judge Phyllis J. Hamilton of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California issued a mixed ruling on cross motions for summary judgment, finding that most of Abbott's arguments were in dispute.
