Obama Offers Big Power Cos. Smart Grid Cash

Law360, New York (May 19, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Obama administration has unveiled changes in its smart grid funding programs that would allow substantially bigger projects to be eligible for federal stimulus funding.

U.S. Commerce Secretary Gary Locke and U.S. Energy Secretary Steven Chu announced on Monday an overhaul to the funding system for the Smart Grid Investment Grant and Smart Grid Demonstration Projects programs to projects up to 10 times more costly.
