Starr Trademark Case Heats Up

Law360, New York (September 15, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- American International Group Inc.’s trademark infringement countersuit against former business partner C.V. Starr & Co. will be allowed to proceed, a federal judge ruled Thursday.

Both sides in the case are trying to wrest control of the Starr name, which has been under dispute since former AIG chief executive Maurice “Hank” Greenberg was ousted from the company amid a massive accounting scandal.
