Advocacy Groups Ask USPTO to Revoke Beagle Patent

Law360 (February 26, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Advocacy groups have asked the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office to revoke a patent granted to the University of Texas for a procedure for animal testing.

The American Anti-Vivisection Society (AAVS) and the PatentWatch Project filed the legal challenge with the USPTO, urging the agency to cancel U.S. patent no. 6,444,872.
