L’Oreal Suffers Another Blow In IP Battle With EBay

Law360, New York (May 22, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A British court has ruled that online auction giant eBay is not responsible for fake beauty products sold through the Web site, delivering another setback to L’Oreal SA only days after a French court ruled similarly.

London’s High Court on Friday found that eBay UK should not be held liable for trademark infringement committed by those who use the site, racking up another victory for the auctioneer as L’Oreal pursues its European campaign against the company.
