Asbestos Claimants Want Asarco Plan Nixed

Law360, New York (May 22, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bankrupt mining giant Asarco LLC wants to run roughshod over the due process rights of asbestos injury claimants, their attorneys have said in a chorus of objections.

On Thursday, attorneys from several firms representing separate groups of asbestos injury claimants filed more than 20 separate objections to Asarco motions in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of Texas.
