MGA Asks 9th Circ. To Stay Bratz IP Transfer To Mattel

Law360 (May 27, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- MGA Entertainment Inc. has asked a federal appeals court to stay an order to transfer to Mattel Inc. trade secrets and trademarks for MGA's popular Bratz dolls while the company appeals a $100 million jury verdict against it in the toy makers' copyright infringement and employment contract battle.

In an emergency motion filed Tuesday in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, MGA argued that the injunctive orders, if not stayed, would cause the company irreparable harm.
