Deals Rumor Mill: Flipkart, Nestle, Blackstone

By Adam Rhodes (May 4, 2018, 7:59 PM EDT) -- Flipkart directors have approved a roughly $15 billion bid by Walmart for a sizable stake in the Indian e-commerce company, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday. The report comes after CNBC TV18 reported Wednesday that Amazon offered to buy a 60 percent stake in the e-commerce giant. According to the WSJ, Walmart is leading a group that is looking to take a 75 percent stake in Flipkart. Walmart's rumored interest in the company dates back to January, when Indian daily newspaper The Economic Times said it was in talks to buy an up to 20 percent stake. That stake reportedly jumped to more than 40 percent in February, and then to at least 51 percent in April....
